The Resilience Project

We look forward to our Resilience Project night and invite all parents from the Cranbourne Carlisle PS community to attend this evening. Children and staff have listened to speakers from The Resilience Project so far this year and we would like our parent community to have the opportunity as well. Schools’ Privacy Policy

The Department has developed a new Schools’ Privacy Policy and related documents for all Victorian government schools to implement. This includes:

  • Schools’ Privacy Policy
  • Collection notices
  • Frequently asked questions (FAQs) for school staff and parents.

Why must the new privacy policy be adopted

The new Schools’ Privacy Policy:

  • replaces any existing privacy policies used by schools.
  • ensures our school is compliant with updated legislation
  • clarifies that all school staff (including Student Support Service Officers, other allied health practitioners and teaching staff) may share personal and health information about a child with all other staff who ‘need to know’ that information, to enable the school to educate or support the child or fulfil legal obligations
  • allows for personal and health information about children transferring between government schools to be shared with the next (Victorian government) school.

Breakfast Club is back!

Our Breakfast Club is up and running for 2018. We are serving breakfast Monday and Thursday every week from 8:15-8:45am in the Breakfast Club space near the Year 1 rooms. Ms Anne Waller is heading up the team and we are keen to have as many parents involved as possible. If you would like to help out please see the School Office or Ms Waller.

A good start to the day leads to a good day!

Thank you to FOOD BANK and Kellogg’s for supporting our Breakfast Club.

Important Reminders

Thank you to the many parents who have finalised payment of essential item school fees, or who have organised a payment plan with the School Office. Prompt payment of these fees enables us to purchase resources to enhance children’s learning in classrooms, PE equipment, art supplies, ICT equipment and so on.

Families who have not yet paid their fees are asked to do so as soon as possible. Payments may be made in cash, BPay or via EFTPOS. Please see Michelle at the School Office.

We are very grateful that many of our families have chosen to also pay the small voluntary contribution of $40. With this money, we will add to growing library collection, purchase new take home books and add further reading recovery resources.  It is not too late for families to choose to make this payment!!

Personal property is often brought to school by children, staff and visitors. This property can include mobile phones, music devices, electronic games, calculators, musical instruments, sporting equipment and cars parked on school premises.

The Department of Education and Training does not hold insurance for personal property brought to school and it has no capacity to pay for any loss or damage to such property.

Cranbourne Carlisle Primary School does not have an insurance policy for lost, stolen or damaged personal property. Children are not permitted to bring any unnecessary or particularly valuable items to school. Mobile phones brought to school MUST be left at the School Office and collected at the end of the day.

The Department of Education and Training does not provide personal accident insurance for children. Parents and guardians are responsible for paying the cost of medical treatment for injured children, including any transport costs.

Student accident insurance policies are available from the private insurance market. These cover a range of medical expenses not covered by Medicare. They can be obtained by parents for individual children.

Parents are reminded that Cranbourne Carlisle Primary School does not have a whole of school accident insurance policy.
