The Premier’s Reading Challenge 2019!

“He has knobbly knees, and turned-out toes, and a poisonous wart at the end of his nose!”
The Gruffalo – Julia Donaldson

Week 5 of Term 2, already? Oh, how time flies when you’re having fun!

The children in 114 have been reading lots and lots of books.

As a class, it is something that we ALL love to do and we always look forward to hearing stories and reading our own personal choice books.

We have read 15 books from the Premier’s Reading Challenge 2019 and here are some of our favourites so far:

  • The Gruffalo written by Julia Donaldson
We loved the part when we found out at the end that the Gruffalo was ACTUALLY REAL! We thought the mouse was lying and just pretending that a Guffalo was a monster in the woods. But the Gruffalo turned out to be a REAL monster!
  • The Pocket Dogs written by Margaret Wild
We loved this book because the dogs were so cute! We got very worried when one of the dogs got lost (because there was a hole in his owner’s pocket where he normally stays). BUT, we were so happy to find out that his was able to find his way back home.
  • BUSTING written by Aaron Blabey
This book made us giggle so hard! There was lots of rhyming in this book. Our favourite part was when Lou FINALLY found a toilet! We couldn’t imagine how hard it was for Lou to wait that long to use the loo! We highly recommend you read this book if you’re in a giggly mood!
