Planets and the Sun with 001

15 October 2019

This term 001 are learning about space and the amazing creations found in space, including the Stars, Moon, Planets and the materials they are made of. We learnt that the majority of planets are made of gases and the rings that surround Saturn are actually made of rocks and ice.

Today children were very excited to visit the Science Discovery Dome  where they were surrounded by stars and planets in a night setting.  We learnt about the different planets and their location  in addition to the reasons why day and night exist.

Children also created their own planets and placed them in order  before presenting a colourful display of planets. They all did a fantastic job and really enjoyed learning and talking about space.
