Jump Rope For Heart-Jump Off Day

Jump Rope For Heart-Jump Off Day

5 March 2021

On Thursday 1st April we will be holding a Jump Off Day to celebrate the efforts of our students who have been practising this term for Jump Rope for Heart. On this day we encourage all students to make a gold coin donation to support research into heart disease.

Jump Rope for Heart is one of Australia’s best loved physical activity and fundraising programs. It’s designed to get students skipping to good health, while raising funds to help the Heart Foundation fight heart disease.

That’s important because:

  • one in four 5-12-year olds are either overweight or obese
  • 80% of students are not getting the recommended amount of daily physical activity
  • physical activity makes you less likely to have a heart attack and can help prevent and manage over 20 chronic diseases including some cancers, type 2 diabetes and depression
  • Heart disease is Australia’s biggest killer
