Cyclone Pam caused unimaginable destruction to Vanuatu last month, with schools having to close. Now re-opening, they are struggling to replace basic and essential educational resources, as well as re-build.
Year Four children from Cranbourne Carlisle Primary School would like to assist with the Schools4Schools project, which will provide direct aid to schools in Vanuatu, supporting hundreds, hopefully thousands, of children in Vanuatu, from Kinder to Year 12, with the basic tools to learn.
The children of Vanuatu are in desperate need of the following educational supplies:
Children’s novels, picture story books, atlases, poetry books, non-fiction books, etc.
Work Books of all types
Exercise books, project books, scrap books, etc
Pencils – black, red, colored, 2B, etc, pens, rulers, scissors, note pads, pencil cases, erasers, etc.
Donations need to be at our school by Monday 1 June 2015
The Ministry of Education in Vanuatu will receive the goods and distribute the resources to as many schools as possible across the islands.
Year Four children will be organising a raffle as part of the event. If a child brings bring in a donation they will be rewarded with a raffle ticket and go into a draw for some wonderful prizes.
On behalf of the children of Vanuatu, we thank you for your assistance.
