We wish all families a restful holiday break and look forward to everyone returning for another action-packed term. Please be reminded that Term Four begins for children on TUESDAY 7 OCTOBER.
This holiday break is a great opportunity for children and families to break free of winter hibernation and enjoy the warmer weather outside. We would like to encourage our families to take time out together, cycling, playing in the park, picnicking somewhere lovely, or enjoying each other’s company on a nature walk.
Several weeks ago, all families were notified by letter if they had not submitted an immunisation status certificate, or whose immunisation statement is incomplete. We have received very few completed certificates from the 75 families contacted.
With several serious disease outbreaks in Victoria in recent times, including measles, it is crucial that the school has accurate and up-to-date information regarding the immunisation status of children in our care. As part of enrolling in any Victorian government primary school, or transferring between schools, you need to show your child’s immunisation status certificate to the school. Children who are not immunised can still attend school but they must present an immunisation status certificate.
The Child History Statement from the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register may be used, but is only valid if it contains the statement ‘this child has received all vaccines required by 5 years of age’.
If an outbreak of an infectious disease occurs at the school, children who have not been immunised or for whom we have no documentation will be sent home until the danger has passed.
We encourage all children to come to school wearing the colours of the team they support. It need not be Aussie Rules – we always have excellent representation from rugby, soccer and league. A real highlight of the day is the parade, where Mr McDonald holds court and the team songs are played. The children will participate in their multi-age groups and engage in football related games, skills sessions and events throughout the day.
We will be celebrating Footy Day and the end of term with a hot chip lunch. For $5, children will receive a generous serving of chips and soft drink. Please send children with fruit, snack
A notice will be sent home tonight and orders will need to be in no later than Wednesday. There will be no Subway lunches on Thursday.
