CCPS B+Online

The internet is a fantastic resource for information, entertainment and social networking. It is important to understand that things can sometimes go wrong in this space and that there are ways to minimise the risk or harm involved. CCPS B+Online will allow children to report things that make them feel uncomfortable or that upset them and the school will find the best person to support them.

Cyber bullying refers to Internet bullying. Cyber bullying is a form of violence that can do lasting harm to young people. Bullying statistics show that cyber bullying is a serious problem, especially among teens. By being more aware of cyber bullying, teens and adults can help to fight it. Cyber bullying affects many adolescents and teens on a daily basis. Cyber bullying involves using technology, like smart phones and the Internet, to bully or harass another person.

Cyber bullying can take many forms:
1. Sending mean messages or threats to a person’s email account or smart phone
2. Spreading rumours online or through texts
3. Posting hurtful or threatening messages on social networking sites or web pages
4. Stealing a person’s account information to break into their account and send damaging messages
5. Pretending to be someone else online to hurt another person
6. Taking unflattering pictures of a person and spreading them on the Internet
7. Sexting, or circulating sexually suggestive pictures or messages about a person

The CCPS B+Online form can always be found on the ICT blog or by clicking here
