308 | Reader’s Theatre

21 July 2019

During reading sessions this week we focused on adjusting our voice and pace to suit different kinds of texts. One of the ways the children practiced adjusting their voice to suit a character and improve their expression was through Reader’s Theatre. In these sessions they worked together in a small group to rehearse and then present a short scene from a play. This also linked in well with our school value of collaboration. All of the children were contributing their ideas for character voices and giving each other feedback on their use of expression. I was very impressed with their ability to collaborate with each other to produce outstanding performances!
