212 Colourful Semantics 27.8.19

28 August 2019

The children in 212 are very excited about their compound sentences.  FANBOYS is a great word to remind the children about a special word to simple two simple sentences together.

F for

A and

N nor

B but

O or

Y yet

S so

They also know to include a comma before they write in one of the special words from above to link the two simple sentences together.

Ask the children at home to link two simple sentences together.

For example.

The boy ate an ice cream.  The ice cream fell onto the grass when he was running.

The boy ate an ice cream, BUT the ice cream fell onto the grass when he was running.

The word but should be written in lower case writing.

212 are doing an amazingly well with their writing!
