210 | Zones of Regulation Toolkits

The children designed their own Zones of Regulation Toolkits. Using coloured paper, they crafted different items to represent the things that would help them self regulate and stay in the green zone.  Their toolkits included:

music notes (listen to music)

bottles of water (have a drink)

a book (to read and take your mind off whatever is upsetting you)

a speech bubble (positive self-talk)

a puff of wind (taking 3 deep breaths)

love heart (being around someone you love)

Taking complete ownership over their own Toolkit was important for each child to reflect on what helps them to feel calm, ready to learn and focussed.    Mrs. Murphy
